Born of one occasio
Occasio means opportunity. We're a family-owned New Jersey roastery that started with a gift of green coffee — and a yes.
It started with a gift
In early 2023, family members of the Carpios had just traveled home to New Jersey from a trip to their home country of Costa Rica. They returned with a gift: beautiful green coffee beans from their family's coffee farm — and a commission to find a roastery to roast them and build a partnership with.
The Carpios brought the idea to the other side of the family, the Stotlers, and a bigger question surfaced: what if we started a roastery of our own? About a month after that first conversation, Occasio Coffee was founded, and a shared passion for coffee was taken to a whole new level.
Sometimes all it takes is saying yesto an opportunity to change your life. That's why we're called Occasio — it means “opportunity.” Just as one occasio changed ours, we believe it can change yours too.
